In the midst of the 2022 pandemic, I had just finished my PhD in Lausanne, Switzerland, where I was living together with my boyfriend Flo (now my husband).
Travel and exploring the world has always been a shared passion of ours. With flight tickets to China soaring due to Covid, instead of spending the money on a single ticket, I decided to make my way back home overland.
\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\tOur channel is all about travel and cultural storytelling. We set off on journeys because we're passionate about connecting people across borders, uncovering hidden stories, and sharing the beauty of nature that's often overlooked.
With every adventure, we hope to bridge worlds — bringing you closer to remote landscapes, unheard voices, and the cultures that make our world so rich and fascinating.

While Yan started creating videos, Flo took care of everything behind the scenes.
After crossing the Caucasus into Iran, we reunited three months later in Iraqi Kurdistan and Oman. From there, Yan continued her journey alone, eventually reaching China after six months of traveling.
\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tVisit Season 1\n\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\tWhen Yan returned, the channel had built a small but growing community. She felt inspired to share her motherland, China — a place often underestimated and misunderstood.
As Covid restrictions finally eased, Flo was able to plan trips to China, and whenever he could get time off, he’d join Yan to create videos together, making the journey even more special.
\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tVisit Season 2\n\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\tAfter being in a long-distance relationship for 2.5 years, we finally got married and decided to start a new chapter together in China. Having already explored so much of the country, we felt ready to plan Season 3 \"The Ancient Silk Road\".
We’re kicking things off in Xi'an, the starting point of the Silk Road, and our journey will take us westward through Central Asia, South Asia, and the Middle East, all the way to Europe.

Before starting our YouTube channel, we explored remote corners of the world — from Pakistan and Iran to Yan’s research in Côte d'Ivoire and Flo’s work in Senegal and India.
For us, it’s never been just about visiting new places; it’s about connecting cultures and highlighting the hidden gems often overlooked.
